Indicator of term of approach of planned maintenance (ASSYST)

 

Intervals of service are displayed on the digital display located on the control panel. The first instruction on need of maintenance appears approximately one month or 3 000 km prior to the current term of maintenance.

Indication THAT on the universal display appears automatically after inclusion of ignition or during the movement.

There can be following messages:

"SERVICE A" "IN xx DAYS" (SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE to the LIST A... THROUGH хх DAYS)
"SERVICE A" "IN xx KM" (SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE to the LIST A... AFTER the RUN хх KM)
"SERVICE A" "EXCEEDED BY xx DAYS!" (SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE to the LIST A... It is OVERDUE ON хх DAYS!)
"SERVICE A" "EXCEEDED BY xx KM!" (SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE to the LIST A... It is DELAYED ON хх by KM!)
"SERVICE A" "CARRY OUT!" (SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE TO THE LIST A... CARRY OUT THAT!)

Indication of "SERVICE A" (SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE to the LIST A) or "SERVICE B" (SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE to the LIST B) give information on that, some it is necessary to execute.

Depending on style of driving term THAT is displayed in days or in kilometers (km).

If carrying out term THAT is delayed, the sound signal in addition joins.

Indication THAT is automatically switched off in 30 seconds or pressing of the button of dumping of indications on the control panel (Section 9 of the Head "Governing bodies and methods of safe operation").

Indication call THAT

 

Turn a key in the ignition switch in situation 1 or 2.

By means of the button or on a multipurpose steering wheel cause indication of the measuring instrument of a run from the moment of dumping and the counter of the general run (Undressed the Multipurpose steering wheel, the universal display).

Or press the button until indication THAT appears.

Pressing of the button or displays the following or previous system.

Important!

The indicator does not display the level of motive oil. The call of indication of level of motive oil is considered below.

The run between two THAT depends on style of driving.

Quiet style of driving on average turns of the engine and reduction of quantity of trips increase a car resource by short distances (additional information is provided in "The service book").

If the rechargeable battery is disconnected, the indicator does not consider idle time.

For observance of terms of carrying out THAT it is necessary to consider this period.

Zeroing of the indicator after carrying out maintenance

Turn a key in the switch of ignition in situation 1.

By means of the button or on a multipurpose steering wheel cause indication the run measuring instrument from the moment of dumping and the counter of the general run.

Or press the button until indication THAT appears.

Press the button of dumping of indications on the control panel (The section the Control panel) and hold pressed about 2 seconds.

On the universal display the inquiry appears:

"DO YOU WANT TO RESET SERVICE INTERVAL?" "CONFIRM BY PRESSING R" (WHETHER YOU WISH TO BEGIN NEW COUNTING THAT? - CONFIRM WITH PRESSING OF THE BUTTON OF DUMPING).

Press the button of dumping of indications on the control panel once again, indication of term THAT is dumped.

There is an indication THAT with new counting of a run from the moment of start.

If dumping of indications of the indicator was made mistakenly, updating of indications of the indicator can be made on HUNDRED "by Mercedes - Benz".

Indication of level of motive oil

When checking level of oil the car has to be in horizontal position.

You carry out control of level of oil approximately in 5 minutes after a stop warmed up up to the working temperature.

Turn a key in the switch of ignition in situation 2.

By means of the button or on a multipurpose steering wheel cause indication of the measuring instrument of a run from the moment of dumping and the counter of the general run (Undressed the Multipurpose steering wheel, the universal display).

Or on a multipurpose steering wheel press the button until indication of level of motive oil "MEASUREMENT CORRECT ONLY IF VEH appears. LEVEL!" (EXACT MEASUREMENT is POSSIBLE ONLY IN HORIZONTAL POSITION of the CAR!) This indication appears only for a reminder; if the car is not in horizontal position, measurement can be interrupted with pressing of the button or. If measurement is not interrupted, then it will lead to wrong measurement - bring the car into horizontal position and repeat measurement.

If there is a message of "ENGINE OIL LEVEL" "SWITCH ON IGNITION!" (LEVEL of MOTIVE OIL - SWITCH OFF IGNITION!), the key in the switch of ignition is not in situation 2.

Approximately in 3 seconds indication of "ENGINE OIL LEVEL" "MEASURING NOW appears!" (LEVEL of MOTIVE OIL - goes MEASUREMENT!)

On the display the following indications can appear:

"ENGINE OIL LEVEL" "O. K" (LEVEL OF MOTIVE OIL IS NORMAL)

Dolivk of oil is not required.

"ENGINE OIL LEVEL" "ADD 1,0 LITER!" (LEVEL OF MOTIVE OIL - ADD 1.0 LITRES OF OIL!)
"ENGINE OIL LEVEL" "ADD 1,5 LITER!" (LEVEL OF MOTIVE OIL - ADD 1.5 LITRES OF OIL!)
"ENGINE OIL LEVEL" "ADD 2,0 LITER!" (LEVEL OF MOTIVE OIL - ADD 2.0 LITRES OF OIL!)
"ENGINE OIL LEVEL" "REDUCE OIL LEVEL!" (LEVEL of MOTIVE OIL - REDUCE OIL LEVEL!) appears only at the engine which is warmed up up to the working temperature.

Excessive oil needs to be merged or pumped out. There is a danger of damage of the engine or catalytic converter.
"WAITING TIME" "OBSERVE!" (SUSTAIN WAITING TIME!)

This indication appears if the required waiting time after switching off of the engine was not considered.

After switching off of the engine sustain the next time:

· At the engine which is warmed up up to the working temperature - about 5 minutes;
· At the engine, not heated-up up to the working temperature, - up to 30 minutes.

Repeat measurement of level of oil after appropriate time of expectation.

If on the universal display at the working engine indication of level of motive oil - appears see. "The warning system and the alarm system of malfunctions" (Undressed Precautionary alarm and control lamps, and also messages of the information display on the registered malfunctions).

Level of oil cannot be controlled at the working engine, there is an indication of "ENGINE OIL LEVEL" "NOT WHEN ENGINE ON" (it is IMPOSSIBLE to CONTROL the LEVEL of MOTIVE OIL AT the WORKING ENGINE).

On models with the four-cylinder petrol engine the level of oil can be also measured by a masloizmeritelny core (address the Section Check of Levels of Liquids, control of leaks).
